Lily Allen looks effortlessly stylish in a classic white T-shirt and jeans as she greets fans after arriving at BBC Studios with daughter Ethel, 11

Lily Allen made her way to the BBC studios accompanied by her daughter Ethel Mary Cooper on Sunday.

The singer, 38, chose to keep her Sunday outfit casual as she wore a plain white T shirt while throwing over a lapel neck coat with a pair of frayed hem jeans.

The mother of one opted for a pair of black aviators as she shielded herself from the sun while making her way inside with 11-year old Ethel.

Her blonde bob was tamed and looked pretty neat as she carried a large oversized handbag for the outing.

Lily, who recently opened up to Hunger Magazine about past traumas in her life and how she ‘is done with being on the forefront,’ sported some comfortable ballet pumps as she smiled at the cameras.

She said: ‘People may think I’m retreating, but I’m done being at the forefront.’

‘There was the stillbirth of my son, the stalking incident, the sexual assault — I felt myself leave my body when they happened, and I don’t think I’ve ever managed to reconnect.’

The British star admitted that if she hadn’t quit drugs and alcohol she doesn’t know if she’d still ‘be alive.’

While the Smile singer said that her daughter’s Ethel, 7, and Marnie, 6, would be ‘cross at her for a lot of shit that happened before’ she came out clean, Lily also candidly discussed her shift from music to acting.

She said she feels like she has ‘done everything I wanted to do’ and ‘feels like she won’ at being a musician.

‘That being said, I can’t just be making packed lunches and ferrying kids to activities forever.

‘I’ll do it for a few months and then I’ll have to stick my teeth into something — plus I think it’s healthy for them to see me doing something else.’

She added: ‘I’m not saying I’m never gonna make music again. But with acting, especially theatre, something truthful happens in the moment, and when I write music, I’m thinking about how people are going to receive it.’

She also reflected on the fact that she wouldn’t have married her husband David Harbour, who she married back in 2020 in a surprise wedding in Las Vegas, if she hadn’t quit drugs and alcohol.

‘I don’t think I’d be married to my husband. I don’t think that my kids would be thriving in the way that they are. I don’t think that I’d have gone into finding acting and how much I enjoy that. I definitely wouldn’t be getting as much sleep,’ she told Glamour Magazine last month.

Meanwhile, LiIy said she’s kickstarted a healthy regime post her sobriety and says she ‘goes to the gym four times a week.

She added: ‘Pretty much every aspect of my life has changed as a result of my sobriety.’

Being sober saved her: 'I don’t think I’d be married to my husband. I don’t think that my kids would be thriving in the way that they are.
