Lisa Marie Presley appears unsteady and slurs her words at Golden Globes days before suffering a cardiac arrest – as she holds onto pal Jerry Schilling during awkward interview with Extra

Lisa Marie Presley, days before suffering a cardiac arrest, appeared to be unsteady while being interviewed on the red carpet at the 2023 Golden Globes, where she attended in support of the film Elvis.

In the clip, Presley, 54, – who suffered a possible cardiac arrest at her Calabasas, California home Thursday – turned to her friend Jerry Schilling, 80, and said, ‘I’m gonna grab your arm,’ as she was asked questions ahead of the event by Extra correspondent Billy Bush.

She appeared to talk slowly and slurred her words as she responded to questions about the film’s Austin Butler, the aspects of the role he mastered, and the storms and flooding in Southern California.

In the clip, Bush predicted ‘a wonderful night for Elvis’ in the beginning of the interview, in which Lisa stood next to longtime friend Schilling, a talent manager who worked closely with Elvis.

Bush asked her if she had gotten to know Butler, at which point she told Schilling, ‘I’m gonna grab your arm,’ and locked her right arm with Schilling’s left arm.

She said adores Butler and said she was ‘mind-blown’ after seeing Butler’s performance in the film (which earned him Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama honors at the event).

Lisa said she need five days ‘to process [Butler’s performance] as it was so spot on and authentic.’

In the chat, Lisa said that she thought that Butler nailed the ‘characteristics [and] the talking … without doing it like in a caricature way like it’s been done in the past.’

She added, ‘It’s kind of done in sort of a funny, joking way, the way [Elvis] spoke, but Austin actually got it and did it perfectly without making it comical.’

Schilling noted that Butler ‘didn’t overdo’ aspects of his performance as Elvis.
