Love Island’s Maya Jama interrupted a live broadcast while filming Aftersun for an emotional announcement on Sunday night.
The presenter, 28, had to pause what she was doing to let viewers know that two former Love Island stars had some emotional news to share
Two former stars of the show have become engaged after meeting on the series.
Addressing the camera, Maya said: ‘Before we get into the chat, I’ve got some breaking news everyone.
‘If you haven’t been on Instagram, Molly-Mae and Tommy have just got engaged. Congratulations!’

There was then an explosion of rapturous applause as the studio audience came together to celebrate the happy news.
Maya said: ‘See, Love Island works! They’ve got a baby, engagement, just happy ever after.’
Molly-Mae and boxing champ Tommy welcomed a daughter called Bambi in January this year.
And on Sunday they shared a video of the beautiful moment that Tommy proposed.
Tommy proposed on top of a cliff filled with gorgeous flowers, while holding their first born.
Molly-Mae was dressed in a white bandeau top and matching trousers for the video, while Tommy was dressed in a smart suit.
She shared the clip alongside the words: ‘Forever. 23/07/23’, alongside an engagement ring emoji and crying face emoji.
The pair met on Love Island in 2019 and ended up in second place behind winners Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea – who actually broke up after the first season ended.
