Love Island recap as Jessie breaks down over Will’s antics

Friday’s episode of Love Island saw the Islanders dealing with the dramatic fallout from Casa Amor after a tense recoupling which saw nine dumped from the villa.

The nail-biting episode saw Jessie Wynter, Claudia Fogarty and Samie Elishi meet up with Casa Amor girls Layla Al-Momani, Lydia Karakyriakou and Cynthia Taylu.

As the girls dropped bombshells about what really went on in the main villa, Jessie Wynter broke down in tears and admitted she planned to tell Will Young she loved him before hearing of his antics.

Meanwhile, Claudia was left fuming after learning Casey O’Gorman had apologised to Cynthia for not coupling up with her, while Samie was left unimpressed by Tom Clare‘s flirting.

Things also hit the rocks for Shaq Mohammad and Tanya Manhenga when he admitted he felt ‘betrayed’ by her decision to couple up with Martin Akinola.

The episode ended with a teaser clip which showed the boys finally facing the music for Casa Amor as they were confronted by their partners in very tense scenes.

Tearful Jessie admits she was going to tell Will she loved him

In heart-wrenching scenes, Jessie admitted she was planning to tell Will she loved him before learning of his cheeky Casa Amor antics.

The Australian beauty, 26, had been left devastated after she found out the farmer, 23, had kissed Layla during Thursday’s explosive recoupling scenes.

Jessie broke down in tears as some of the Islanders headed out to meet the Casa Amor girls to learn what really happened while they were away from the main villa. 

Layla revealed all about her antics with Will, telling Jessie he had said that he thought she was going to ‘turn his head’ on the very first day.

Layla went on to detail her steamy smooch with Will on the first night, before saying he had felt ‘guilty’ the next day, with her saying she sensed his feelings had changed.

Jessie then broke down in floods of tears and was consoled by her fellow islander Claudia Fogarty, who admitted that Will’s antics had been the hardest for the villa. 

A tearful Jessie said: ‘If our connection was so strong then how can you chase after a girl after one day?’

Jessie then revealed that she had been planning to tell Will that she loved him before the recoupling as she said she felt they had a ‘genuine connection’.

Through tears, she said: ‘I actually love him. Imagine if I said that at the recoupling, I would have been so humiliated.’

Earlier in the episode, Jessie had become overwhelmed with emotion while the Islanders said their goodbyes to the dumped Casa Amor girls and boys following the recoupling.

She was kindly comforted by her friend Tom Clare, who tried to assure her that she means ‘so much’ to Will, but Jessie broke down in floods of tears.

Will came over to try and speak to her, but Jessie asked him to leave her to digest the news as she sobbed, with Will walking away looking downtrodden. 

In between tears, she said of him kissing someone else: ‘I know it’s not big, but it’s big to me.’ 

To which Tom insisted: ‘You mean so much to him.’

But an upset Jessie hit back with: ‘I’ve been told that so many times,’ before comforting Shaq Mohammad, who was left single after Tanya Manhenga recoupled with Martin Akinola.

Casey O’Gorman also tried to assure her that Will felt very guilty following his actions, but she went to speak with the girls.

She fumed: ‘The audacity to think we are going to walk back in and be like, “it’s OK!”‘

Speaking to the girls through floods of tears, she said: ‘Out of everyone I didn’t think he would be the guy to to it.’

Shaq admits he feels ‘betrayed’ by Tanya

Elsewhere, Shaq admitted he felt ‘betrayed’ by Tanya after she paired up with newcomer Martin during the explosive Casa Amor recoupling.

The airport security guard, 24, was left devastated when his former partner, 23, returned to the main villa with new boy Martin, 27, while he stayed single.

And in Friday’s episode, Shaq revealed that he doesn’t know if he can ‘trust’ Tanya again as they dealt with the fallout from Casa Amor.

The morning after the emotional recoupling, Shaq and Tanya had a chat about her decision to recouple, where she said she wasn’t closing the door on their romance.

However, an upset Shaq shared his doubts and said he felt like she ‘threw’ what they had back in his face by recoupling and admitted he doesn’t ‘trust’ her. 

Tanya owned up to her Casa Amor antics as she said: ‘We did sleep in the same bed together, he gave me a hug and kissed me, a quick kiss.’

Explaining her decision, she added: ‘I feel like I deserve to give myself a chance, it wasn’t like I’m going back with Martin and me and Shaq are done.’

However, a devastated Shaq said: ‘I meant it when I said I loved you and all the stuff I said about the outside.’

‘I felt very betrayed, I’ve been honest with you from day one and it felt like you took that and threw it in my face. I don’t know if I can trust you,’ he added.

Tanya then insisted she wouldn’t stop ‘trying’ with him while she gets to know Martin, but Shaq said: ‘You do your thing, and I’ll do my thing, and that’s how it’s going to be.’

Speaking in the Beach Hut, he added: ‘I wanna be mad and wish I don’t have any feelings towards her and move on… but I’m in love with her, and seeing her hits me different.’

Tanya then caught up with Maxwell Samuda and Martin about her conversation with Shaq, where she said he needed to ‘separate I love you from how long I’ve known you’.

After Maxwell walked away, Tanya spoke to a quiet Martin and asked him what he thought after he said he was ‘processing’ while looking annoyed.

He said: ‘You had the chat yeah? Obviously you lot had problems before right? Is it a thing of when he fixes up then I’m out the picture? 

‘I don’t want to be a stepping stone in your relationship. I don’t want to be like, I’m a test.’

But Tanya insisted that every bombshell is a ‘test’, adding: ‘In here, people coming in here are tests of what is already in here. Do you know what I’m saying?’

Earlier, Shaq had spoke to Kai Fagan about Tanya and Martin and said he thought that her body language with her new partner didn’t look ‘natural’.

Looking over at Tanya, Shaq said: ‘She doesn’t even look natural, look at her, curled up in a ball. She was never like that with me!’

Kai told his pal that he thinks that Tanya still likes him, saying: ‘I feel like she’ll be right back on you.’ 

But Shaq admitted: ‘I don’t know if I could ever trust her again.’

Tanya had also expressed her fears about her and Shaq’s future after he said they were ‘over’.

She asked pals Samie Elishi and Olivia Hawkins: ‘He said it’s over, do you think he means it?’

Olivia brands Kai a ‘game player’ despite also recoupling 

In equally tense scenes, Olivia Hawkins branded Kai Fagan a ‘game player’ despite them both recoupling with other people.

The ring girl, 27, and the PE teacher, 24, were together in a couple before being separated for Casa Amor, but both returned to the main villa with new partners.

But as Olivia arrived back with Maxwell Samuda, 23, she was fuming to find out that Kai had now found love with Sanam Harrinanan, 24.

Fans of the ITV show were quick to remind Olivia that she did, in fact, forget Kai’s name upon her arrival in Casa Amor and were confused by her rage.  

During the episode, the former couple went for a chat in which Olivia ranted at Kai: ‘If anyone is playing the game it’s you!’

‘You should be happy, you came back coupled up,’ he questioned. 

Olivia hit back: ‘I feel like everything I had with you is fake. Your feelings have switched so quickly I don’t know how you’ve put on such an act!’

‘You’ve done the same as me!’ a confused Kai hit back. 

‘I nearly came back single! I don’t need friend like you in my life, I’ve got enough friends thank you,’ she fired as she made a dramatic exit from the conversation.

The boys face the music in teaser clip

The episode came to an end on a very explosive note as the girls were seen confronting their partners after finding out some shocking Casa Amor bombshells.

Claudia, Samie and Jessie had all gone to meet Casa Amor girls Cynthia, Lydia and Layla to find out what really happened while they were away from the main villa.

Huge bombshells were dropped during the meet-up, with all three girls left absolutely fuming at their partners for their cheeky antics.

Claudia was told by Cynthia that Casey had made it clear he was interested in her and said she was ‘shocked’ when he didn’t pick her to couple up with. 

Meanwhile, Samie was left fuming at Tom after Lydia said they did more than a ‘wee bit of flirting’ and said he had ‘never’ given her an ‘indication’ that he was leaning towards Samie.

And in a tense teaser clip, it appears the boys will be facing the music on Sunday’s episode as their partners were seen confronting them after the truths came out.

During one dramatic confrontation, Claudia fumed at Casey: ‘She was like there were a genuine connection there and I was really shocked when your name was said!’ 

While Samie also had a showdown with Tom, in which she said: ‘I know you explained to me like the cuddle in bed at night, I feel like a p***k!’ 

And Jessie became very tearful while accusing Will of ‘playing two girls’ with his Casa Amor antics. 

She said: ‘You played her whilst knowing I was away still feeling the exact same about you. You played two girls!’

Before adding through floods of tears: ‘Why Will? So silly.’ 

But it remains to be seen whether any of the three boys will be able to mend their romances with their partners following the infamous Casa Amor.
