Love Island‘s Will Young has revealed he fancies previous Islander Maura Higgins and that he dreams of getting his own TV show.
The farmer, 23, spoke to MailOnline ahead of arriving in the South African villa, where he discussed which former stars of the show he’d like to see return.
He confessed: ‘I really love Maura. I think her energy was incredible, I think she was beautiful, a really nice girl as well, so someone like that would be a dream.

He added: ‘And hopefully if she did and coupled up with me that would be even better.’
The TikTok star also spoke about the possibility of getting his own TV show, like Jeremy Clarkson’s Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm.
Will gushed: ‘That would be wicked. That would be the absolute dream. I’d love something like that.’

When it comes to his future after Love Island, Will says he thinks he wants to return to farming.
He said: ‘So we actually do lambing in April, where all the sheep have the babies so I’ve got that pencilled in, I’ll be coming home and doing that.
‘However, I have no idea what the future holds, but I think it was will always hopefully revolve around farming.’

While Will is away, his family has hired additional help and he says his preparation for the show has been focussed on farming.
He explained: ‘I’ve spent as much time as I can with [my replacement], teaching him how the farm works, what to do things like that. ‘
His father spoke to MailOnline this week, where he said: ‘When he was chosen for the series we sat down and had a chat as it meant that he would be away from the farm for quite a while. It is just the two of us working here.
‘I have hired someone to help, and it might be that he becomes full time if William cannot devote all his time to the job.’

Discussing his ideal type on paper, he described: ‘I’m a super energetic person and I’m very much of the opinion with the energy matching.
‘I’m always moving at a hundred miles per hour so finding someone to match that would be the dream.’
The hunk has already had a touch of fame thanks to his viral TikTok videos, amassing over one million followers on the social media platform.
But he insists this won’t give him an advantage over the other Islanders, and that ‘we’re all in the same boat’.

Love Island announced their new duty of care measures for 2023 last month– and there are some big changes in store.
ITV2 will ban Islanders’ social media activity during show and will give enhanced training around behaviour in relationships after a controversial summer series.
As part of extended measures to protect both the Islanders and their families from ‘the adverse effects of social media’, participants will be asked to pause handles and accounts on their social media platforms for the duration of their time on the show.

Islanders’ accounts will remain dormant while they are in the Villa, so that nothing is published on their behalf.
For Will, with his huge TikTok following, this could affect him more than most, but he is glad for the break.
He explained: ‘To be fair I understand why they’re doing it and for me it will be a nice little separation.
‘With my TikTok it’s all educational based, I’m trying to teach as much as I can. So it will be a nice split of people seeing what I’m like on camera where I’m not holding an animal or treating a sheep. I think it will be quite nice to see a split.’
