Married At First Sight fans share bizarre theory that the new season has had ‘major budget cuts’ after noticing one VERY small detail in the cast’s promotional photos
Married At First Sight fans are suggesting the reality series has suffered a major blow ahead of the season premiere next week.
Promos for the anticipated season are well and truly underway with bombshell trailers and first-look posters being released in the days leading up to Monday night’s first episode.
But some eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but notice a specific detail in the recent photographs of the brides and grooms.

In a popular Facebook group named Tea Time, a woman shared a series of side-by-side images of brides Tahnee Cook and Bronte Schofield, as well as groom Harrison Boon.
The images on the left showed the MAFS participants with a grey-blue appearance and were the unedited photos from the official release.
The images on the right showed a ‘quick two second temperature change’ to point out a simple tool that makes skin tone appear warmer in photos.
‘So the new MAFS cast has been announced and I’m predicting major budget cuts have been made to the show,’ the woman wrote.

‘All their photos haven’t been colour corrected and they look like they are frozen,’ she added, noting that the photos gave the contestants more of a ‘blue tone’ rather than simply appearing pale.
The woman didn’t alter or airbrush any of the contestants’ features and simply added more yellow tones.
‘Wow yeah I’m kinda shocked that they put those images out? Your colour corrections look so much better,’ a woman commented on the post.

‘OMG the audacity of Channel 9!’ another wrote, adding a facepalm emoji.
‘They just straight uploaded the raw images haha yikes!!!’ one said.
It comes after Married At First Sight boss Tara McWilliams, who is credited with transforming the experiment into the ratings juggernaut it is today, insisted that there was no such thing as a ‘villain edit’ on the show and that any negative storyline is just the result of ‘bad choices’.
‘I don’t think anyone is a villain. They’re not characters out of a storybook, they’re real people that sometimes behave poorly,’ McWilliams told Daily Mail Australia.

‘It doesn’t make them bad people. I think you can put the best meeting on a show like this, and the intensity of the experience makes people behave in a way that even surprises them.’
‘I think season 10 will see some controversial people – absolutely.’
The new season of MAFS will see the experts bring up a range of topics that include racism, gaslighting, and narcissistic behaviour.
According to onset sources, one groom has already been labelled ‘worse than Bryce’, while another bride and groom accuse each other of ‘gaslighting each other’ and playing mind games.
Married At First Sight’s new season will feature more shocking scandals that viewers have never seen before
‘Gaslighting gets tackled again, but other things about the way people treat each other in relationships, which for us – we think we’ve seen it all – is shocking…’ McWilliams told Variety last week.
‘If we’re being shocked still, then you know the content’s pretty ballsy,’ she continued.
‘We have scandals again, but scandals that you haven’t seen. And that’s what I love about this, the reality Gods have really kind of smiled down on us,’ she added.
Married At First Sight returns to Channel Nine on Monday, January 30 at 7.30pm
