Playboy is entering the digital age with their own creator-led platform that promises to be an ‘elevated’ and porn-free alternative to the X-rated OnlyFans.

The site has already attracted a number of Australian stunners, from established influencers and reality stars to up-and-coming models.

Unlike OnlyFans, which allows almost anybody over 18 to join, Playboy creators must be approved by the platform’s editorial team to ensure that they meet the high standards of the heritage brand.

The biggest Australian name on the site so far is Gabby Epstein, who boasts three million Instagram followers and covered Playboy Mexico in 2021.

Some of the fresh-faced stars on the platform include busty beauty influencer Jen Suluka, blonde beauty Mia Smith, and glamour models Tayla Perrin and Carly Louise Lippiatt.

Reality star Megan Marx, best known for The Bachelor and MTV’s The Challenge, has become one of the top creators on Playboy since joining the site earlier this month.

Just two weeks after joining the site, Megan was named the ‘Centerfold of the Day’ on Playboy.com and became the top trending model on the site too.

Megan previously appeared topless on the cover of Australia’s Maxim magazine alongside fellow Bachelor star Tiffany Scanlon, who she was in a lesbian relationship with at the time.

The 32-year-old, who grew up in a strict religious cult, said that it was Playboy’s dedication to sexual freedom that inspired her to join the site.

Social media star Gina Stewart, 52, is currently one of the oldest models on Playboy.com and said she was impressed by the brand’s ‘iconic status’ and classier image compared to more explicit platforms.

‘The Playboy platform has launched yes and it’s going to give OnlyFans a run for its money,’ she told the Daily Star.

‘It will stay within the Playboy guidelines, nudity but not pornography,’ she continued.

‘I think this appeals to a more conservative demographic audience and is a lot more classy and glamorous.’

The Playboy app launched in 2021 under the name Centerfold, with rapper Cardi B attached as both a founding member and creative director of the app.

The revamped magazine, which stopped printing in 2020 due to financial woes, will officially launch later this year.

The online format for the magazine will allow users to access the brand’s ‘creator platform,’ which the company is striving to brand an ‘elevated,’ ‘safe,’ and ‘exclusive’ alternative to OnlyFans.

Instead of Playboy’s signature ‘bunnies,’ users will now be able to interact with ‘creators,’ who will post uncensored content on their pages and give subscribers exclusive access into their lives, in addition to posing for the magazine’s digital covers.

Amanda Cerny, a comedian and model who became a Playmate in 2011, is the outlet’s first ever digital cover model. She made more than $1million as a Playboy model during the brand’s rollout of the beta version of the platform, which it called ‘Centerfold.’

‘From becoming the Playmate centerfold of October 2011, to now being in the company of Marilyn Monroe, Dolly Parton and Kate Moss on Playboy’s cover, is a dream come true!’ Cerny said in a statement.

‘A Playboy creator is someone who is able to embrace their creativity, their sexuality and freely and unapologetically express themselves. I can’t wait to share more of my journey with exclusive behind-the-scenes content with my fans on my Playboy channel.’

The company’s Chief Brand Officer Rachel Webber told the New York Post, ‘Our Playboy creator platform is the Playboy magazine for the 21st century.

‘We’re putting the power of content creation in the hands of the creative community and giving them the tools to interact with and monetize their fanbases directly.’

One major difference between OnlyFans and Playboy’s new feature, is that while anyone can sign up to become an OnlyFans creator, Playboy creators have to apply and be accepted by the outlet’s editorial team.

Like OnlyFans, users will be able to subscribe and pay to view adult content and interact with the women and men creating it. Some, who pay for it, will also be granted ‘access’ to the daily lives of the models.

The platform will allow nudity, which its creators view as a form of art and free expression, but explicit content and pornography will not be allowed.

Ben Kohn, the company’s CEO said he hopes the interjection of Playboy’s creators will disrupt the current creator ecosystem in much the same way that ‘Playboy magazine shook up the publishing industry nearly 70 years ago.’

After printing its final cover in March of 2020, the magazine laid of 25 staffers.

The new digital magazine, said the company, will include contributor essays from creators and content about what it’s like to be a part of Playboy.

As Playboy continues to grow its brand, OnlyFans has become increasingly more controversial and explicit.

Many former reality stars who signed up for the platform have progressed from doing lingerie photos to hardcore porn on the site to keep their subscribers paying.

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea launched her account in January, which she said was ‘multimedia project’ that would encompass art, photography, poetry, and illustrations.

Last year, former Married At First Sight star Mishel Karen (pictured) made headlines for filming a 12-person bisexual orgy for OnlyFans

However, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last month, the Fancy hitmaker admitted that she’d been making a big chunk of money on the site by sending degrading voice messages to male subscribers with humiliation kinks.

‘Men pay me to tell them that they’re a piece of s**t,’ she boasted.

‘They’ll send me like six hundred dollars just to send a voice note like, “I’d never suck your disgusting little f***ing d**k! Is that even a d**k? I wouldn’t even let my dog lick that d**k.”

‘And they’re like, “Ugh. $200. $300.” And I’m like, I like this game! I like to sit in bed at night and tell men how [inaudible] and they pay me for it.’
