Neve Campbell enjoys reunion with her Scream co-stars at Emerald City Comic Con… after turning down franchise’s latest movie over money

Neve Campbell enjoyed a reunion with a few of her Scream co-stars at Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle this Friday.

The 49-year-old actress became a star in the franchise’s original movie in 1996 and went on to star in the next four instalments.

She hit the headlines last year when she revealed she declined to be in the latest picture, Scream VI, because of the money.

However there is clearly no animosity between her and her old cast-mates, whom she chatted with onstage at the Seattle Convention Center.

Jamie Kennedy, Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard, who were all in the first Scream, joined Neve for a conversation moderated by Veronica Valencia.

The event was titled: ‘What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie? Scream Cast Reunion,’ after a famous line uttered by the serial killer Ghostface in the first Scream.

Neve revealed in an interview with Deadline last year that she had turned down an offer to return for Scream VI because she felt her pay was insufficient.

‘As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream,’ she said.

‘I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise,’ the 49-year-old actress explained.

She had thus far been inextricably associated with the franchise, which has grossed over $744 million cumulatively worldwide.

Courteney Cox is now the only cast member of the original movie to have stuck with the franchise all the way up to Scream VI.

The new Scream, which is slated for release next Friday, marks the first time Courteney has made a movie in the series without Neve.

Speaking to Variety, Courteney remarked of the experience: ‘I missed working with her, but I’m going to support whatever she feels is right.’
