Niall Horan spent this year’s St. Patrick’s Day a long way from home as he took to the White House to perform for President Joe Biden.
The singer, who hails from Mullingar, gave a special performance in the residence’s East Room as the US politician held a shamrock presentation to celebrate the holiday.
Appearing pleased with the performance, Biden wrapped an arm around the hitmaker while the pair appeared to have a light-hearted laugh with one another.
Taking to Instagram, Niall recorded himself from Washington D.C, sharing that he ‘Couldn’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day alone’.
Getting involved in the action, President Biden jumped into the singer’s video and jibed: ‘And me too, I’m here at the White House, I hang out here every once in a while’.

Setting up shop in front of a St. Patrick’s Day plaque, Niall donned a cream shirt and dark waistcoat for the performance as he was armed with his guitar.
The President later joined him on the small stage, embracing him while beaming and addressing the intimate audience as the unlikely duo appeared to get on like a house on fire.
Getting into the spirit with a green tie, he hosted Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to celebrate the day.
Addressing the room during the event, President Biden shared: ‘Together, Ireland and America have written ourselves a better future.
‘The United States has benefited greatly from waves of immigration from the Ireland — the island of Ireland, who helped shape this nation: the Scottish-Irish of the 18th century; the Irish who came during the 19th century — century, like my ancestors, during the famine and beyond.’
While he also included in the long speech: ‘Growing up Irish American gave me the pride that spoke to both sides of the Atlantic, heart and soul that drew from the old and new.’
Niall shared a short social media video from the event too, saying into the camera: ‘Hi guys, It’s me. I just want to wish you a very happy St. Patrick’s Day from the White House, from me.’
Panning the camera around to see a waiting President Bident, the politician beamed and added: ‘And me too, I’m here at the White House, I hang out here every once in a while.

‘I was NOT expecting this today,’ added another follower, as a third said: ‘The collab we didn’t know we needed’.
