Nine ‘gags’ MAFS’ Harrison for going rogue by accusing Bronte’s sister of ‘planning’ to ambush him

Channel Nine has censored Married At First Sight groom Harrison Boon after he went rogue and accused Bronte Schofield’s sister of ambushing him during family week.

The builder shared a post on Instagram claiming Kirra Schofield had ‘overstepped boundaries’ by passing judgement on his ‘private relationship’ with Bronte.

However, this post was evidently not approved by Nine’s publicity department, as he was later ordered to update his caption with something less inflammatory.

The MAFS Gossip Instagram page screenshotted the original caption before it was changed, and contrasted it with the edited version.

Harrison’s first caption read: ‘Kirra always oversteps the bounds of family member making comments on a private relationship. It’s not family or friends’ place to threaten a spouse on their loved one’s behalf.

‘What is going to happen in Perth? Seems like Kirra is planning something. Is Bronte okay with this?’

This caption, which implied Kirra was plotting to sabotage his relationship, irked the MAFS publicists, who told him to change it.

His post was then updated to, ‘It’s not family or friends’ place to make comments on their loved one’s behalf,’ removing the reference to Kirra ‘planning something’.

It comes after exclusive footage obtained by Daily Mail Australia showed MAFS producers at work while Harrison and Bronte were filming ‘family week’.

Producers were seen pulling aside Bronte’s sister Kirra – who had earlier expressed doubts about Harrison on the couple’s wedding day – and urging her to ‘rip into’ her brother-in-law.

They intervened after noticing how well the trio was getting along on set, which ‘wouldn’t make for good TV,’ according to a well-placed source.

‘The producers were trying to create drama and were desperate to inject some tension into the show,’ the insider said.

‘They freaked out when the three of them reunited and were all getting along, as they’d expected Kirra to be on the warpath after what happened at the wedding.’

Kirra had been instantly wary of Harrison’s cocky attitude when she locked eyes with him at the altar – and her suspicions where later confirmed when it was alleged at the reception he had a ‘secret girlfriend’ waiting for him outside the experiment.

But things had clearly cooled off by the time Kirra returned for family week.

‘They wanted Kirra to have a go at Harrison, but that wasn’t happening. So they pulled her outside and told her she needed to go back in and give him an earful,’ the source revealed.

‘They pretty much instructed her to rip into him and say she didn’t trust him.

‘Things were actually really good with Bronte and Harrison at that stage, but the producers wanted Kirra to come in and cause drama.’

According to the insider, producers told Harrison and Bronte’s family and friends they ‘weren’t going home until they had enough proper footage to work with’.

And they were successful as Bronte’s sister was later seen angrily giving Harrison a piece of her mind during the reunion with family and friends.
