Power actor Rotimi and his fiancée Vanessa Mdee welcome their second child, a daughter named Imani: ‘I’m overwhelmed with love today’
Power actor Rotimi and his fiancée Vanessa Mdee’s family just grew by one.
The actor and his singer love, both 34, welcomed daughter Imani. They announced her birth in an Instagram post on Monday.
Imani joins her big brother Seven, who was born in September 2021.
The couple shared their happy news with a video that showed Rotimi and Mdee each putting a hand into the frame before Seven added in his hand and finally newborn Imani’s hand.
The actor can also be seen holding his daughter, who is wrapped up in a blanket, in a hospital room while shirtless.

‘Our Second Child Together & Seven Now Has A Little Sister To Watch Over! God You Have Poured Blessings On Me So Many Times So I Will Scream My Praises Back To You ! I’m Forever Grateful,’ he concluded.
Rotimi’s song Love Somebody, off his 2021 album All or Nothing, played in the background of the sweet video.
The couple announced the pregnancy – and the fact that they were expecting a girl in September 2022.
‘We’re excited to announce that our baby girl is on the way. What a beautiful testament to GOD’s favor. We are overjoyed,’ the couple told People at the time.
The couple opened an umbrella that released pink confetti that rained over the parents to reveal the baby’s gender.
When Seven was born, the Boss actor announced it in a similar way.
He shared a close-up photo of their newborn’s hand on Instagram and revealed his name alongside crown and dove emojis in the caption. He captioned the post, ‘Feeling Blessed.’

Rotimi, whose birth name is Olurotimi Akinosho, and the singer met an Essence Festival afterparty in New Orleans.
The Coming 2 America star wasn’t looking for love when he attended the event though he told Essence.
‘I actually was there with somebody else, just a weekend friend,’ he explained. ‘She ended up getting sick. We were supposed to go to this party, and [she said] I don’t want to come. I said, ‘Okay, it’s fine. I’m just going to go for 15 minutes.’
‘I end up going and some of my castmates were also there. That’s where I end up meeting [Vanessa.] Fifteen minutes turned into an hour and a half conversation. Nothing else mattered in the room.’
After they met, Mdee had to return to Africa. She is a singer-songwriter from Tanzania.
Mdee is known for being the first ever Tanzanian MTV VJ
When she eventually came back to the United States, the pair went on their first official date.
Mdee relocated to the United States shortly after they began dating, and the couple got engaged on December 30, 2020.
