While on the long-running talk show she discussed what it was like discovering her singing voice for the role, in which she plays the lead vocalist in a rock band.
‘I knew I wasn’t entirely tone deaf and everything but I’d never tried to properly sing before so it was a journey,’ Riley told the hosts.
The fictional band performed 24 original songs for a new album entitled Aurora, which will debut on March 3 along with the Prime Video show.
When Kelly stated on the episode, ‘A Grammy! You could win a Grammy!’ Riley gushed with excitement, ‘I can win a Grammy!’

Elsewhere in the episode, Riley discussed Austin Butler’s role in director Baz Luhrmann’s critically acclaimed film Elvis.
Asked how she felt about Butler’s performance, she said, ‘I think he was outstanding and incredible and I couldn’t have imagined anyone being able to pull off what he did in terms of embodying my grandfather.’
She added that witnessing the transformation was ‘shocking and emotional’ and said ‘it totally blew me away.’
After she watched the feature for the first time Keough revealed, ‘I was in tears for like, a week, because of the film but also because of his performance.’
The entertainer also said that while other projects about Presley ‘felt like a caricature’ Austin was able to ‘capture the humanity’ of her late grandfather in his depiction of the king of rock ‘n’ roll.
When recently asked by Entertainment Tonight if she feels this show is a way of carrying on her family’s musical legacy, Keough didn’t quite see it that way.
‘I certainly wouldn’t put that pressure on it. I don’t know if there is continuing my grandfather’s legacy, it’s its own sort of thing to me. But it was a really fun experience for me,’ Riley shared.
