Sir Patrick Stewart after rising to fame portraying Captain Jean Luc-Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation rallied his old crew on the series finale of Picard on Thursday on the Paramount+ streaming service.

The 82-year-old English actor as Picard saved the world again after the fearsome Borg threatened to wipe out humanity with the help of his secret son Jack Crusher, portrayed by Ed Speelers.

Stewart first played Captain Picard on TNG when it began airing in September 1987 and starred in three seasons of his own spin-off series on Paramount+.

The series finale titled The Last Generation was written and directed by showrunner Terry Matalas, 47, and left fans clamoring for more of Jeri Ryan, 55, as the newly promoted Captain Seven Of Nine.

Ryan was promoted following the murder of her USS Titan Captain Liam Shaw, who was portrayed admirably by Todd Stashwick, 54.

Captain Shaw was shown posthumously praising Seven and recommending to his superiors that she be promoted to the captain’s chair.

Seven, who was formerly a Borg drone, fought back tears while watching her late captain make the recommendation.

Her promotion thrilled fans of the Star Trek: Voyager series who saw the character grow into a leadership position within Starfleet after being a member of the Borg.

The finale showed Seven as the new captain of the USS Enterprise after the USS Titan was rechristened in honor of Picard and his crew.

Viewers were treated to a credit scene that featured Picard’s longtime nemesis Q, played by John de Lancie, 75.

Q surprisingly appeared before Picard’s son Jack as he served on the Enterprise and revealed that he was going to face his own trials just like his father.

The series finale was praised on social media with many seeking more from the characters by asking for a Star Wars Legacy series.

In addition to Picard’s son Jack Crusher with Beverly Crusher [Gates McFadden], the series also introduced Alandra and Sidney, the children of ship engineer Geordi LaForge [LeVar Burton].
