Today host Karl Stefanovic has poked fun at The Project’s Sarah Harris for cutting off Succession star Nicholas Braun mid-sentence during an interview over the weekend.

Nicholas, 34, appeared on The Project on Sunday night to promote the final season of the popular HBO show and launched into a lengthy story about meeting Quentin Tarantino towards the end of his five minute interview.

However, the Hollywood actor was stopped by host Sarah, who said they were running out of time.

Nicholas, who has since described the moment as ‘weird’, was interviewed by the Today show on Tuesday and Karl couldn’t resist poking fun at the saga.

‘I know that you have a wonderful Quentin Tarantino story, and unfortunately, you haven’t been able to share it yet with the media in Australia,’ he quipped.

Taking a clear swipe at The Project, he added: ‘Yeah, we got time. This is our show, goddammit. Can you share that story with us?’

Nicholas agreed and began telling his story, before Karl jokingly cut him off, saying: ‘Anyway it’s great to see you.’

After sharing a laugh, Nicholas returned to his tale about crossing paths with Tarantino on a plane in 2005.

Nicholas, who was 21 at the time, had recently filmed the Disney Channel movie Sky High and happened to be holding a magazine with an advertisement for the film.

After noticing Tarantino in first class, Nicholas decided to rip off the advertisement and give it to him before the plane took off.

‘I was just like, ‘That’s me there, Quentin. That’s me, I’m in this movie. Watch it if you have Disney Channel”,’ he recalled.

‘It felt like so stupid, but I was just like, ‘I have to do something’. And his response was, ‘Hopefully we work together someday’, he continued, adding: ‘I think I tried to maybe get his email the next day, but nobody would give it to me.’

‘He reported you to the police,’ Karl joked, sending the panel into laughter.

Nicholas appeared satisfied about being able to finally tell his tale following Sunday’s botched appearance on The Project.

During that interview, he was only able to reach the part of his story where he presented Quinten with the ripped magazine ad.

At that point, host Sarah interjected and said ‘Look, we’re running out of time’.

‘I know, but it’s a very important story,’ Nicholas replied, to which an even more frazzled Sarah said urgently, ‘We’ve got to go! Thank you for joining us.’

Fortunately, Nicholas took it in his stride, telling the hosts he looked forward to meeting them in person next time he’s in the country, before the segment ended.

'The movie is about time travel and these kids who are flying through the time space continuum in snow suits...' he continued. At this point, a stressed sounding Harris interjected, 'Look we... We're running out of time'. (Pictured L-R: The Project Hamish Macdonald and Sarah Harris)
