History may be repeating itself as Chelsea are yet again looking to complete a Brighton raid.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have submitted an offer to Brighton to poach their head of recruitment.
The two Premier League clubs have become very familiar in the last couple of years. We’ve seen players, managers and backroom staff move from the Amex Stadium to Stamford Bridge very recently.
Chelsea already snatched Brighton’s recruitment chief in 2022 when Paul Winstanley joined them to take on the role as a sporting director in west London.
Now, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly and BlueCo are repeating a similar move.
The Telegraph explains today that Chelsea have launched a proposal for Sam Jewell, the Brighton head of recruitment.
It is explained that they’ve made their move over fears Manchester United could come in for him.

The report says that the 34-year-old’s yet to make a decision on his future, so all avenues are open at this early stage.
Apparently, BlueCo are offering Jewell the role as a global scout in charge of negotiations for both Chelsea and sister club Strasbourg in France.
Jewell’s been a key figure in Brighton’s very successful drive in recent years. The report names him as a part of Brighton deals for the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo, Facundo Buonanotte and Julio Enciso.
So, will Winstanley’s successor end up following him to Chelsea just a couple of years later?
This follows claims from The Athletic earlier this week that Chelsea are set to appoint Swansea City’s head of football operations Josh Marsh as their new loans manager.
It sounds like the reshuffling of the club’s hierarchy off the field will continue while there’s turbulence on the pitch.
With so much change everywhere you look at Samford Bridge, it’s no surprise that they need to take a step backwards to take two steps forward.
