Chris Sutton has made his prediction ahead of Manchester City versus Chelsea this weekend.

Man City host Chelsea on Saturday evening for a Premier League game, with the reverse meeting finishing 4-4 at Stamford Bridge back in November.

Pep Guardiola’s team are on six-game winning streak in the league and sit second in the table two points behind leaders Liverpool, albeit they’ve played a game less.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will be disappointed they sit 10th in the division standings. Despite the rough league season, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are somehow only two points behind seventh-placed Newcastle United.

BBC pundit Chris Sutton has predicted the score for Chelsea’s trip to the Etihad Stadium tomorrow.

“Cole Palmer is back at Etihad Stadium with Chelsea but it might be asking too much for him to have the same impact against his old club as when they drew 4-4 with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge and he stuck away an injury-time penalty,” Sutton told BBC Sport.

“I think Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola made a mistake letting Palmer leave, but this game is only going to end one way – a Chelsea defeat.

“City are just too good. They have got so many good players, and more to come off the bench. Jack Grealish’s injury against FC Copenhagen was a blow but they had Jeremy Doku to come on, who is a nightmare to play against.

“Chelsea gave it a real go in that draw in November, but the defending champions have gone up a notch or two since then, while Mauricio Pochettino’s side keep going up and down.

“Sutton’s prediction: 2-0.”

Elsewhere, speaking via Sportskeeda this week, Paul Merson has also predicted the Man City versus Chelsea.

Manchester City vs Chelsea

Most things point towards a home win for City over Chelsea tomorrow, but let’s caveat that by saying the latter often raise their levels against the top teams.

The Blues produced a season-best win at Villa Park earlier this month to win away at Aston Villa in the FA Cup. If they can perform like that at Villa’s fortress, they should have belief they can do something at the Etihad Stadium.

It’s a step up on Saturday because Man City are unbeaten at home still this season.
