Chelsea youngster Noni Madueke has got a special talent and is a player the club should invest more time in.

That is according to ESPN pundit Kieran Gibbs.

Noni Madueke, 21, has had a stop-start season at Stamford Bridge so far.

The right-winger was recalled to the starting line-up for yesterday’s FA Cup win over Leeds United, but he’s finding it impossible to nail down a permanent spot in the XI.

We doubt he’s happy with four goals in only 21 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign.

So, can he work his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s good books for the final stretch of the campaign?

Kieran Gibbs has explained that he’s a big fan of Madueke despite his restricted opportunities.

When asked which players in the Chelsea squad they should keep moving forward, Gibbs told ESPN: “I think I would give Madueke another go. He’s got something. I can see something in him.”

Gibbs then added: “I thought Madueke [against Leeds] was bright.”

Noni Madueke position

In our view, Madueke can bring a lot to this Chelsea squad. He desperately needs more consistency when he plays, though.

Our biggest criticism of the English right-winger is he does go missing too often for someone with his abiliy.

When he’s in the mood, the left-footed attacker is a full-back’s nightmare with his speed, trickery and directness.

Speaking via La Gazzetta dello Sport this month, Giovanni Galeon has urged Juventus to try sign Madueke this summer. We agree that we’d like to see the exciting winger get more time, but we’re guessing his immediate future will be shaped by his form over the final third of the season.
