Police have launched an appeal after a man died from injuries he suffered in an assault in Sydney‘s north more than two weeks earlier.

A strike force has been formed to investigate how a 59-year-old man suffered critical head injuries at a unit complex on Pittwater Road in Manly about 5.45pm on February 27.

The man had been taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.

Detectives have today been told the man died on Friday last week, prompting an appeal for information.

“As inquiries continue, detectives are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time or have information regarding the incident,” police said.
