‘I was very surprised’: Andy Cohen says he’s texted with Kim Zolciak amid her split from husband Kroy Biermann
Andy Cohen said he’s texted with Kim Zolciak since news broke she filed for divorce from husband Kroy Biermann following an 11-year marriage.
Cohen, 54, said on Tuesday’s edition of Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM, that he was ‘was very surprised’ to hear the news the Real Housewives Of Atlanta star, 44, had filed for the split from the Atlanta Falcons alum, 37.
‘That was not the news I ever expected to get,’ Cohen said of the split. ‘They seemed so much in love and just together.
‘I mean, they were a couple that, yeah, I thought they were in it for the long haul. Very surprised.’
The announcement of the parting came amid reports that the couple had a tax debt eclipsing $1,000,000, TMZ reported, citing court docs.

Cohen said that he was ‘sorry to hear that there may be some financial issues’ the former couple is dealing with, citing the aforementioned report.
Cohen said ‘texted a little bit with Kim yesterday [and] sent my condolences because it’s a sad thing.’
The Don’t Be Tardy star said that she and the former NFL player – who are parents to Kroy Jagger, 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kane and Kaia, nine – parted ways April 30, TMZ reported after reviewing court docs.
Biermann adopted Zolciak’s older children from previous relationships – Brielle, 26, and Ariana Biermann, 21 – when they were minors in the couple’s earlier years.
Cohen said of the former pair: ‘They have kids and that was just a couple that seemed very much in love.’

Zolciak had filed for divorce from Biermann following an 11-year marriage
Zolciak said in court docs that the marriage was ‘irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation,’ the outlet reported, and asked for primary physical custody and joint legal custody of the minor children.
Zolciak has requested spousal support in court docs, requesting her maiden name to be restored.
The tax sum from the IRS is comprised of delinquent taxes, penalties and interest for the years 2013, 2017 and 2018, the outlet reported, noting that they are also in arrears in their native Georgia for 2018.
