Chelsea loaned Armando Broja to Fulham during the January transfer window.

Armando Broja would have been hoping to get more game time at Craven Cottage than what he was receiving at Stamford Bridge.

However, things have not exactly turned out that way. The striker is actually yet to start a game for Fulham.

Marco Silva has opted to go with Rodrigo Muniz up front instead, with the 22-year-old now his first-choice No.9.

If it were not for one former Chelsea player, though, Muniz may not even be at Fulham right now.

According to the Evening Standard, Filipe Luis actually talked Muniz out of moving to Saudi Arabia when the two were still playing together at Flamengo.

Armando Broja must be really frustrated with Fulham loan

Broja probably did not expect to join Fulham and then automatically walk into their team. That is not how football works.

However, for the Albania international not to have started a match by March is disappointing.

He must be annoyed with his current situation and Muniz, whose move to Fulham looks partly down to Filipe Luis.

Muniz has been in red-hot form, recently scoring two goals against Tottenham Hotspur.

It would now be a surprise if Fulham signed Broja permanently. Earlier this month, it was already being reported that the Cottagers were considering signing Al-Shabab’s Habib Diallo as an alternative to Broja because of Chelsea’s high valuation.

The above does not mean Broja will be staying at Stamford Bridge in the summer, though. Right now, Nicolas Jackson is the first-choice No.9 at Chelsea and the club could yet strengthen in that position, leaving little room for their academy graduate.

It has been claimed, for example, that Chelsea scouts have now advised that a deal is struck with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko. The arrival of the 20-year-old or another striker will probably spell the end of Broja’s Chelsea career, if it is not over already.
