A learner motorbike rider in Sydney allegedly breached his bail by speeding and covering his licence plate, police claim.

At about 4.30am on Friday, March 22, police on Anzac Bridge, Pyrmont, detected a Yamaha FZ6 motorcycle allegedly travelling at 107km/hr in a 60km/hr zone.

The rider pulled over, and police claim they saw the number plate was completely obscured.

The rider, an 18-year-old Vaucluse man, told police it was to “avoid the tolls”.

Police also found the man was currently on bail over alleged domestic violence, one of the conditions of which was to “not commit any further offences”.

Officers arrested him and allegedly found a bag of cocaine in his wallet.

The man’s licence has been suspended and he was refused bail ahead of a court appearance.
