Chelsea’s Noni Madueke was in action again this evening for England’s Under-21s side at home to Luxembourg, which turned out to be a very high-scoring game.

England thrashed Luxembourg by a 7-0 scoreline in a qualifying match for the UEFA European U21 Championship.

The Young Lions squad is stacked with individuals playing consistent minutes at a very high level in this country.

For Noni Madueke, he started again for the U21s after starting and scoring in a 5-1 win against Azerbaijan last Friday.

The Chelsea right-winger managed to outdo himself tonight, though.

Madueke scored two goals and made two assists as England ran riot over Luxembourg on Tuesday.

It’s the sort of individual display that should send the Blues attacker back to Stamford Bridge after the internnational break with maximum confidence.

His first goal was a soft finish inside the box that he popped through the defender’s legs. His second strike was a similar slick finish on his favoured left foot.

The Chelsea Chronicle has argued Madueke must be promoted into Chelsea’s starting line-up this weekend for the league clash against Burnley. The 22-year-old’s surely done his chances of that no harm with the way he played earlier, so let’s hope club manager Mauricio Pochettino has tuned in.
