Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that his players can pick up where they left off as they return to Premier League action this weekend.

The boss has seen his side enter the European places in the Premier League right now off the back of some impressive results in a row.

However, reports have stated that the owners are not yet convinced, and require Europa League football as a minimum.

With that, here is The Chelsea Chronicle’s prediction for the side to take on Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Chelsea Predicted XI

Djordje Petrovic has remained the only fit first team goalkeeper recently, and will continue his prolonged spell in the team.

With Malo Gusto back off the bench last time out, he will this time be back in a starting side who could be challenged by Callum Hudson-Odoi in attack.

Thiago Silva will start on the right of centre-back, keen to leave a lasting impression in one of his final matches for the club.

He will be partnered by Benoit Badiashile, who has done his best to prove a number of doubters wrong with his performances of late.

Lining up at left-back at first but quickly inverting into midfield, Marc Cucurella will no doubt be crucial in Chelsea’s battle in the middle of the park.

Moises Caicedo is on a one-man mission to proving he is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League right now, and that will continue at the City Ground on Saturday.

He will again be joined by Conor Gallagher, who seems to have established himself in the best performing midfield duo right now.

Ahead of those two, Cole Palmer will look to continue his sensational season off the back of his recent double-award winning night at the club awards.

Attack

Noni Madueke has come into form at just the right time at the moment, and he will look to find the net yet again on Saturday.

Opposite him, Pochettino will make the call to bring Christopher Nkunku back into the starting side in place of Mykhailo Mudryk.

Up front, Nicolas Jackson is playing a crucial role for the Blues at this stage, and will look to carry that on and add to his 13 league goals.
