A Sydney man has been seriously injured in a brutal home invasion last night.

Three men broke into a granny flat in Georges Hall, in the city’s south-west, and attacked a 35-year-old who is now in hospital.

The trio assaulted the man and then ransacked his home, police said.

He was rushed to Liverpool Hospital and is now in a serious condition, police said.

Police were called to the Sturt Avenue home just before 4am.

Investigations are continuing.
