Chelsea’s finances have once again been in the headlines.
It recently emerged that the Blues’ wage bill is over £400m.
Chelsea now look to be in danger of breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, but it appears that they have not crossed that line just yet.
To ease things, the club are going to have to sell some players in the summer.
One man who could depart is Conor Gallagher. It has been claimed that the midfielder has already accepted that he will have to depart if he does not sign a new contract.

Kieran Maguire explains how Chelsea are still complying with FFP
After spending so much money on transfers, many will be questioning how Chelsea have not been penalised by the Premier League yet, especially after what has happened with Everton and Nottingham Forest.
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has now explained how Todd Boehly and the club have kept themselves out of trouble so far.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “I think the good news for Chelsea is that they had a wee bit more money coming in, but the downside was that the wages shot up. They were more than £400m, that’s the second highest in Premier League history, only ever beaten by Manchester City last season and Manchester City won an awful lot of trophies. There are an awful lot of bonuses.
“The player spend was a record level in terms of Premier League history and all of that funnelled into these losses, which are unprecedented and therefore I think there have been a few eyebrows raised in terms of compliance with FFP.
“But Chelsea have sold the hotels, they’ve sold players, they’ve had financial settlements. I think that’s allowed them to probably keep in under the limit.”
Who else could Chelsea sell to help with FFP?
Anyone who has come through the club’s academy like Gallagher, for example, is a candidate. Chelsea can, of course, make pure profit from such individuals.
That includes the likes of Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja.
Chalobah is getting game time right now, but Chelsea have a lot of central defensive options, so he is a logical name to consider selling.
As for Broja, he is not even at the club at present after joining Fulham on loan in the January transfer window. It is unlikely that he has a long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
