Last night was a good one for Chelsea attackers.

Cole Palmer scored four goals for Chelsea, while Nicolas Jackson also managed to get his name on the scoresheet.

Defender Alfie Gilchrist completed the scoring, but it was clearly a night where Chelsea’s attack truly flourished.

The only real negative was Jackson and Noni Madueke arguing about who would take the penalty awarded to the Blues.

Unsurprisingly, though, Palmer was the man to eventually step up and take the spot-kick. His overall performance left former Manchester City star Aymeric Laporte almost lost for words.

Jamie Carragher absolutely loves Chelsea star

Jamie Carragher is a Liverpool legend, but he could not help but show his love for one Chelsea player yesterday.

Before his first goal, Palmer produced a lovely bit of skill to get past Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

It is something that Carragher really enjoyed watching.

Discussing Palmer’s opening strike versus Everton on Sky Sports (15/04/2024 at 22:11), the former centre-back said: “I absolutely love him. I think he’s fantastic. This is a great goal. That skill to go past Branthwaite and the thing I love there is not just lashing it.

“Great players always look like they have time and he has the ball at the edge of the box here and it looks like he has all the time in the world. He has people throwing themselves in front of him and he just places it past the England goalkeeper.”

Cole Palmer’s best goal for Chelsea so far

Palmer is Chelsea’s top scorer this season, finding the back of the net 23 times in all competitions.

His goal yesterday, though, was probably the best of the lot. It was an excellent bit of skill to get past Branthwaite and he combined so well with Jackson before curling the ball into Jordan Pickford’s bottom corner.

It is a goal that Eden Hazard would be proud of.

More moments like that between now and the end of the season, and maybe Chelsea might just end up qualifying for European football.

They have a break from the Premier League this weekend, though, as Mauricio Pochettino‘s men take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals.
