Who is Christopher Gregor? New Jersey Dad Accused of Forcing 6-Year-Old Son to Run on Treadmill Before Death

Christopher Gregor (age 31, born on May 21, 1992) hails from Barnegat Township. He faces serious allegations of mistreating his son, Corey, leading to the tragic demise of the child on April 2, 2021.

According to police reports, Christopher manipulated the treadmill’s speed while Corey was on it at the Atlantic Heights Clubhouse fitness center. This resulted in Corey falling off multiple times, causing fatal injuries. Additionally, court documents mention Gregor biting Corey’s head during the distressing ordeal.

Corey sadly passed away on April 2, 2021, at the Southern Ocean County Medical Center. The medical examiner attributed Corey’s death to severe injuries, listing the official cause as a heart contusion, liver contusions, acute inflammation, and sepsis.

At the time of his death, Corey was under shared custody between Christopher and his mother, Breanna Micciolo. Christopher held custody of the six-year-old boy during the tragic incident.

Christopher was charged with endangering the welfare of a child

Following the tragic passing of six-year-old Corey Micciolo on April 2, 2021, officers from the Stafford Township Police Department responded to the Southern Ocean Medical Center.

A post-mortem examination conducted on April 3, 2021, by the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that Corey had suffered injuries from blunt force trauma.

During the investigation into Corey’s death, detectives from various law enforcement units uncovered evidence implicating Christopher Gregor in acts of abuse against the child on March 20, 2021, in Barnegat Township.

Consequently, on July 7, 2021, Christopher Gregor faced charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child under N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(2). Despite initially being held in Ocean County Jail, Gregor was released due to New Jersey Bail Reform measures.

Gregor was arrested on March 9, 2022

Things took a serious turn when an update arrived on March 3, 2022, after investigating the situation involving Christopher Gregor and his son Corey. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office received a report stating that Corey’s death, which was caused by severe chest and abdominal injuries, was classified as a homicide.

After checking everything, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Barnegat Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit found out that Corey was with Gregor when he got hurt badly and died. They said Gregor caused Corey’s death.

On March 9, 2022, Gregor was arrested by detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Sea Bright Police Department, and Barnegat Township Police Department.

Christopher declined a deal that would have resulted in a 30-year jail sentence. Currently, he is held in Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing as the legal process moves forward.

Bre Micciolo wants justice for his son Corey

Just days before Corey’s death, Breanna Micciolo had reported her son’s injuries to the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency, highlighting her efforts to protect her child.

During the trial, She became the first person to speak in court. She was deeply saddened and cried while watching the distressing video.

Breanna created a private page on Facebook called “Justice for Corey.” She did this to inform people about what happened to her son and to seek justice for him.

She said, “I created this group to fight for justice for my son, Corey Micciolo. He was only 6 years old when his dad took his life. We won’t stop until justice is served.”
