Police are investigating after a woman was allegedly stabbed by a man known to her outside of a gym in Sydney’s inner city.

Officers were called to a car park outside of a Gym on O’riordan Street in Alexandria after reports of a stabbing 12.30pm today.

Police have said they were told a man in his 40s had allegedly stabbed a 39-year-old woman.

Investigators believe they were known to each other. 

The woman was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition after being treated by paramedics.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway.
