Chelsea may be able to lure one of their reported targets to the club this summer.

Enzo Maresca is set to succeed Mauricio Pochettino in the Stamford Bridge dugout and already looks keen to strengthen the Blues’ squad.

It has been claimed that once the Italian takes over, he wants to sign a goalkeeper, left-back and forward.

However, it would also not be a surprise if Chelsea ended up signing a centre-back.

They have been linked with quite a few, including Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo and Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.

Chelsea could find themselves going head-to-head with rivals Manchester United in the transfer window.

It has been reported that both clubs have Todibo on their shortlist.

A switch to either looks possible, with Todibo stating that he is open to moving to the Premier League this summer.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the France international said: “It’s nice to hear all the compliments. I’m trying to stay focused on my game and my team-mates — but for sure I am open to playing in the Premier League.”

Chelsea can attract Jean-Clair Todibo and others to the club

Things have not gone to plan for Chelsea over the last two seasons, with the club failing to qualify for the Champions League once again this term.

However, they are a big team playing in arguably the best league in the world.

As a result, Chelsea are always going to have their appeal to footballers like Todibo, who are drawn to English football’s top division.

The 24-year-old is unlikely to come cheap, though. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, when Todibo was being linked with a move away from Nice in January, the French club would have only entertained an offer of around €60m (£51m).

It remains to be seen how much he will end up going for if he does decide to leave Nice this summer. Whatever valuation Nice slap on Todibo, it looks like Chelsea could potentially be a destination for him.
