Chelsea are expected to be busy again in the transfer market this summer, however don’t be waiting for the big-money additions that have been seen over the last 18 months.

The club have recently smashed their transfer record twice in consecutive transfer windows to bring in both Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in midfield.

However, they will not be able to spend big in the upcoming window unless they sell some players first, with reports already saying they are open to cashing in on a few.

The likes of Ian Maatsen, Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah and Romelu Lukaku are all reportedly up for sale at the right price in an attempt to balance the books at Stamford Bridge.

When it comes to making signings, centre-back is certainly an area that the club are looking at.

They have already confirmed the addition of Tosin Aderabioyo on a free transfer, however it is not believed they are done with that.

Chelsea should go for Jean-Clair Todibo

One player who they have previously been linked with bringing in is Jean-Clair Todibo, and reports today have emerged that he could be available for as little as £21m.

The 24-year-old has become a regular at Nice, who boost a very impressive defensive record over in France.

He has previously had his confidence praised by Aaron Ramsey, and he is on the radar of a number of Premier League sides.

Manchester United are notably reported interested in the defender, with them also seemingly looking at a move for Chalobah too.

Chelsea certainly need more than just Adarabioyo in an effort to replace Thiago Silva, after his illustrious four-year stay at Stamford Bridge came to an end.

Considering they do not have a great amount of money to deal with, and a number of roles that need addressing, Todibo looks as if he could be the perfect addition this summer.
