Fabrizio Romano has stated that a potential deal that would have seen one Chelsea player featuring in the Champions League next season has gone quiet.

The Blues will need to sell this summer in order to financially be able to strengthen their side for the new manager.

Enzo Maresca has been brought in to replace Mauricio Pochettino after just one season in charge, and reports have already begun to link first team stars with their exit.

One player who has been strongly linked with an exit for some time now is Conor Gallagher, who was a key player under the Argentine last season.

Another player who did not have a role as important was Armando Broja, who actually spent the second half of the season sitting on the bench down the road at Fulham.

Monaco no longer want Armando Broja

It was reported that Monaco were one of the sides intrigued by the prospect of signing the striker, however Romano took to Twitter to state that those talks have gone quiet for now.

He said: “Armando Broja, still expected to leave Chelsea on permanent transfer with several clubs keen but the potential move to AS Monaco has gone quiet.

“Understand negotiations with Monaco are not advanced and they’re expected to open talks for different targets.”

Broja is also reportedly a target for a number of Premier League clubs, however it is believed nearly all of them need to raise funds before they are able to bring him in this summer.

Chelsea agree deal for Jhon Duran

A new striker is also reportedly on the agenda at Stamford Bridge too, with reports recently linking them again to Jhon Duran.

It was even reported yesterday that the Blues had actually agreed a fee with Aston Villa to bring him in, however it remains to be seen if that is the case or not.

Any addition would likely be competing for minutes against Nicolas Jackson, who many are hoping does not have his development affected by any new signings.
