Chelsea made arguably one of their biggest statement signings for the future of all time over the weekend.

It was announced that they had completed a deal to sign Estevao Willian, with him set to join at the end of next season.

It has been key in the Todd Boehly era at the club for them to make investments into their future, some of them being for sizeable price tags.

There has not been as much excitement over one up to now though. Neymar has been just one of the figures to come out and tip him for truly great things in the game.

With the plethora of additions made by the club with an eye to the future, there is always doubts that some of them will not have the ability or the opportunity to make it at Stamford Bridge.

Estevao Willian believes he will make it at Chelsea

However, people close to Estevao have told BBC Sport that he is not concerned by this factor, and instead he actually believes he has an opportunity to break in at Chelsea quicker than at other clubs.

There were no doubt a number of top clubs interested in a deal for the Brazilian, however the fact he has chosen Chelsea should give supporters hope that the project for the future is extremely positive.

It is believed that another club made a last-minute effort to sign Estevao, although his mind was already made up on joining the Blues.

Another player who he will star alongside in the future is Kendry Paez, who has already established himself as a regular for the Ecuador senior side at the age of just 17.

The Copa America presents a great opportunity for him to have a breakout tournament, however his country’s chances took a hit when they were defeated in their opening game off the back of a first half red card.
