Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has delivered some more frustrating injury news in Friday’s press conference.
While speaking this afternoon in his pre-match press conference for Monday’s league match at home to Everton, Mauricio Pochettino shared an injury update on a 20-year-old player.
The Blues have suffered so badly this season with frequent injuries, something which has been a common theme across most top clubs this year.
If there’s one piece of good news to take from today, Pochettino did confirm that Ben Chilwell may be back in the squad for Monday’s clash with Everton.

Chelsea midfielder faces even longer out
Lesley Ugochukwu is the Blues player whose return from injury doesn’t sound imminent.
The £23m midfielder (BBC) has been out injured for Chelsea since late December with a hamstring problem.
It’s been suggested by the manager today that it’ll still be a few weeks before the French youngster can return and reintegrate properly to train.

When asked about Ugochukwu’s fitness, Pochettino said via Chelsea’s YouTube channel: “He’s doing his recovery. We will see in a few weeks if he can be part of training session with the first team. It’s day-by-day we are assessing.”
Lesley Ugochukwu excited Blues earlier this season
Ugochukwu’s only played 13 matches so far in a stop-start debut campaign at Chelsea, but fans shouldn’t give up hope on him just yet.
The French defensive midfielder is still incredibly young and there’s definitely a lot of potential.
Journalist Dean Jones reported via GiveMeSport in September that Chelsea staff are really excited when it comes to the talent and potential of Ugochuwku.
It definitely feels like injury has wrecked a great chance this season for Ugochukwu to impress in Chelsea’s squad. Instead, the other midfielders have been overworked at times.
Let’s hope he’s back in time to contribute for the final few matches of the campaign.
