Chelsea are making it no secret they are keen to add a new striker to their ranks this summer.
It has been claimed that new manager Enzo Maresca is not keen on going into the season with just Nicolas Jackson available as a first team option there.
This hints that he is not of the belief that going into his first campaign in charge with Armando Broja as an option. He is still reported to be for sale this summer.
A number of names have been mentioned as on the list as a potential candidate, however now a new player has reportedly been inquired about by the club.
Alexander Isak has established himself as one of the top forwards in the Premier League, and has previously been mentioned as a player who they are admirers of.

Now though, according to the Mail Online, the Blues have engaged in conversations about the possibility of signing him from Newcastle United.
The report goes on to say that the club are aware it would take another club-record fee for them to get the deal over the line.

The Blues did this in consecutive windows to revolutionise their midfield with the signings of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
One pundit who has put on record numerous times the talent he believes Isak possesses is Alan Shearer, who has previously described him as ‘superb’.
The signing would no doubt completely change the club’s fortunes at the top end of the pitch, with a host of creative players around to supply the Swede with opportunities to score.
However, the fact they walked away from a deal for Michael Olise due to the finances that were required suggests that they are not in the market of spending money they don’t believe is worth on just one particular player.
