What probably held Christian Pulisic back during his time at Chelsea were all of the injuries that he was picking up.
During his final season at Chelsea, Christian Pulisic was only able to make eight starts in the Premier League.
When the winger was fit, he was simply overlooked by Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard a lot of the time.
However, Pulisic did miss a large chunk of the 2022/23 campaign because of a knee problem.
His fortunes have changed at AC Milan this season, though, and the American has explained why. Since joining the Italian club, his shirt has become the best-seller.

Christian Pulisic says why he is no longer getting injured
This term, Pulisic has missed just two league games because of injury.
He has been a regular under Stefano Pioli and really thrived. In 27 Serie A appearances, the 25-year-old has scored nine goals and provided six assists.

Pulisic now believes the fact that he is playing regularly at Milan is helping his body.
Speaking to Fox Sports, the USA international said: “I wouldn’t say there’s been a big change, or something that I’ve done. I’ve taken good care of my body for sure. But it’s just been good to get that consistent game time. Your body just kind of gets accustomed to it, which has been really helpful.
“When you’re constantly in and out of the lineup, it can be hard. Your body isn’t prepared for that constant wear, so then when you come in and give a high-intensity performance, it can definitely be a problem. But this season I’m just feeling good and confident. And that’s when I play my best.”
How Chelsea plan to solve their current injury crisis
Pulisic may not be picking up injuries anymore, but there are several players at his old club who are.
That includes Romeo Lavia, who is going to be out for the rest of the season after a setback in his rehabilitation.
Chelsea are now trying to bring in a new head of performance medicine to help with their crisis, but the damage already looks to be done this term.
It is March, they are in the bottom half of the table and Mauricio Pochettino is without so many of his players. No medical professional is going to save what is left of this campaign, but hopefully he can have a positive impact at the club going forward.
