Chelsea are certainly looking forward rather than backwards as they sit in yet another transfer window.

It is believed they are looking to sign a number of top players in order to give the best possible backing to new manager Enzo Maresca ahead of his first season as a Premier League manager.

This may well come as a result of shifting a number of first team players on to new clubs, and one player they are reportedly keen to do that with is Raheem Sterling.

Despite only being at the club for two seasons now, it seems there is a want to get the highest earner at Stamford Bridge off the wage bill.

If the England international was to move away from the club, all eyes would turn to who would be best placed to replace him as a regular in the starting side.

Chelsea want Mykhailo Mudryk to start long-term

According to The Athletic, the Blues would absolutely love this to be Mykhailo Mudryk, who it is fair to say has not had the easiest first 18 months at Chelsea.

His rough times were only added to yesterday after Ukraine were knocked out of the European Championships despite racking up four points in the group stages.

Chelsea fans on social media seemed to change their opinion on him after he didn’t play too, after they were very positive regarding his performance in the 3-0 defeat earlier in the group stages against Romania.

Mudryk shows glimpses at Euro 2024

He showed glimpses at the tournament of the talent that saw the Blues spend the big money on him. Pundit Thomas Frank has described the winger recently as ‘unbelievable’ suggesting those at the top of the game have seen something to be promising about in his game.

It is surely a big season to come for Mudryk, with it about time he established himself as a key player at Stamford Bridge.
