Chelsea could sell one of their most expensive ever signings to a Saudi Pro League club this summer.

Their current squad contains some of the most expensive purchases in Chelsea’s history.

The above includes the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Romelu Lukaku, Mykhailo Mudryk and Marc Cucurella.

There is also Moises Caicedo, who is Chelsea‘s record signing, though the Ecuadorian will not be going anywhere during this transfer window.

The same also applies to Enzo Fernandez, the Blues’ record buy before Caicedo’s arrival last summer.

Expensive Chelsea signing expected to leave club

While the likes of Fernandez and Caicedo are key players for Chelsea, the same cannot be said of two other expensive acquisitions.

Last season, Kepa joined Real Madrid on loan, while Lukaku spent the campaign at AS Roma.

Neither of them look to have futures at Stamford Bridge, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano expecting Kepa to leave Chelsea during this transfer window.

According to the Italian journalist, Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad have an interest in him.

Speaking on The Debrief, Romano said: “At the moment, still nothing advanced for Kepa to Al-Ittihad, but interest is and was genuine a few weeks ago. So let’s see what’s going to happen, but my expectations are absolutely for Kepa to leave Chelsea and to try a different experience this summer.”

Will Kepa Arrizabalaga join Al-Ittihad this summer?

Kepa’s Chelsea career is definitely over. There is simply no room for him at Stamford Bridge anymore.

Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez are the first and second-choice goalkeepers at Chelsea, while there has been talk about the Blues bringing in another shot-stopper.

Journalist Alan Nixon recently claimed that Enzo Maresca wants Burnley’s James Trafford.

Whether the club sign Trafford or not, though, you fully would expect Kepa to leave west London for good.

Again, the £71m goalkeeper simply does not look to have a future at Chelsea, who were happy for him to join Real Madrid on loan last term. Therefore, a switch to Al-Ittihad looks like a real possibility.
