Steve Sidwell has made his score prediction ahead of Manchester City against Chelsea this weekend at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea face one of the toughest assignments in club football right now when they travel to Man City this Saturday in the Premier League.

The Blues are the definition of inconsistent at this moment in time. In fact, they’ve got five wins and five defeats from their previous 10 league matches, which goes someway to explaining why they’re currently 10th in the table.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have only drawn in four league games so far this season, but one was the 4-4 classic at home to title challengers Man City back in November. Our guess is we’ll need to play even better than on that day to win at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow.

Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast this week, Steve Sidwell has tipped a comfortable Man City home win over Chelsea.

“City are on the rampage. They are chasing the pack and on the tails. They are performing well. Chelsea, what’s going on there? I’m not sure. There’s still a few hurdles to jump there

“I’m going to go for a City 2-0 win.”

Elsewhere, speaking to BBC Sport this week, Chris Sutton has made his match prediction for Man City versus Chelsea.

Manchester City vs Chelsea

Chelsea enjoyed the bragging rights of beating Man City in a Champions League final back in 2021. Kai Havertz’s historic goal in a 1-0 victory has gone down in Blues folklore for the rest of time.

That’s actually the last time they beat them, though.

The Blues have lost six and drawn one of the previous seven meetings with tomorrow’s in-form opponents, which highlights the size of the task that awaits them when they arrive in Manchester.

However, we’ve learned from Pochettino’s group this term to expect the unexpected.

Our hope is that the likes of Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling can be inspired on their return to a former club. We’ve got a renewed faith in Chelsea getting a decent amount of chances in games, but the defence should be under the microscope right now.
