Chelsea are reportedly not done yet when it comes to signing players to directly influence their first team ahead of next summer.
The Blues have already looked to give adequate backing to new manager Enzo Maresca by bringing in his top-performing player from last season at Leicester City.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has joined the club, with him being added to their list of transfer targets after they made the decision to hire the Italian.
While Tosin Adarabioyo has joined as a senior player (and impressed many at the club in his first few training sessions so far) many will believe they need more if they are to have the best possible campaign.
It has previously been claimed that they are keen on signing a winger, and in recent days the name of Kaoru Mitoma has begun to crop up as a potential target.
Chelsea have discussed signing Kaoru Mitoma
Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that the Blues have discussed the prospect of signing the Brighton man, however no approach has been made at this stage.
He said to the ‘London is Blue’ podcast: “I’ve mentioned Mitoma before. That was just an internal discussion. So Brighton are yet to receive any approach. But it’s sort of interesting. Mitoma’s older, he breaks the mold a little bit, but he could be dropped straight in and have an impact in the Premier League.”
Mitoma has established himself as one of the most impressive and exciting wingers in the entire league.
Despite the fact he did not enjoy quite as good a campaign last season, Chelsea fans will be well aware of his talents after watching him play against them at Stamford Bridge.
Mitoma was untouchable in a 2-1 win against the Blues in 2023, with it being said that Blues defender Trevoh Chalobah had been tormented by him throughout the 90 minutes.
If the Blues don’t bring in a new winger, there will be a lot of faith in Mykhailo Mudryk to finally show why the club spent so much money in signing him.
