Firefighter critically injured in massive factory blaze in Brisbane – with another two rushed to hospital

Two firefighters are in hospital, one with critical injuries, following a massive factory fire in Brisbane

Fire crews were called to Pacific Highway at Slacks Creek at about 2.20am overnight following reports a warehouse was engulfed in flames. 

The blaze broke out at the pool maintenance warehouse, with large amounts of black smoke billowing out from the second floor.

Two female firefighters are in hospital – one in serious condition – as emergency crew battled to contain the blaze. 

A man was also taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries from the fire. 

As many as 20 fire trucks were on the scene, along with along with ambulance and police personnel. 

Authorities declared the fire under control just after 6am but multiple crews and three senior police officers remained. 

Police have declared the area a crime scene. 

A warning was issued to residents in the neighbouring areas just after 3am to close windows and doors due to the smoke gushing from the warehouse. 

Residents in the neighbouring suburbs are urged to keep their windows and doors closed as smoke continues to billow from the warehouse (pictured)

Locals who suffer from respiratory conditions are being urged to keep medications close by. 

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area as authorities close The Pacific Highway Service Rd between Moss St and Judds Court. 

The incident has also impacted traffic causing congestion on the Logan Motorway and the Pacific Motorway.
