The officers rushed up a concrete path to the house, shouted out ‘Police!’ and then smashed the front door in.

A PolAir helicopter circled overhead as police searched the house.

Moments later, officers brought out a man wearing a green Brooklyn motorcycle t-shirt and cream coloured Nike tracksuit pants.

He was then seen embracing his partner who was wearing a pink dressing gown, before he was then escorted to a police vehicle.

In a subsequent search of the property, police seized items relevant to the investigation, which will undergo forensic examination.

The 48-year-old was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with murder and ordered to face court on Thursday.
