MasterChef Australia contestant Theo Loizou reveals how he lost 50kg and why a trip to a men’s clothing store prompted him to take action after he tipped the scales at 125kg

MasterChef Australia contestant Theo Loizou has revealed his dramatic transformation.

The electrician, 37, was overweight in his early Twenties, but managed to shed almost 50kg by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Theo said he was overweight in his younger years because his diet consisted of ‘whatever I wanted’ and a serious back injury prevented him from exercising.

He explained that a sobering trip to the men’s clothing section helped him understand his weight was out of control and he needed to take action.

‘I’ve lost 45kg and kept it off since I was around 23,’ he told Woman’s Day.
