Liverpool fans believe that Fabinho’s move to Saudi Arabia is happening after spotting an update on his wife’s social media.

Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad are reported to be eyeing a £40million transfer for the Reds midfielder.

Such a move would see him link up with Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante who joined from Real Madrid and Chelsea respectively.

Fabinho could also be the second midfielder that Liverpool sell to the league, with captain Jordan Henderson linked with Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are undergoing a midfield rebuild this summer so there would be little surprise if these moves are completed.

It appears as though Fabinho’s switch to Al Ittihad is progressing after fans spotted something on his wife’s Instagram.

On Reddit, they noticed that amongst other Liverpool related accounts, Rebeca Tavares is now following a user called ‘welcomesaudi’.

Their bio reads ‘The No.1 Travel Search & Review Website in Saudi Arabia, Discover The Best Hotels Restaurants and Tourist Destinations in Saudi Arabia’.

It has led fans to believe that Fabinho is on his way out this summer, with one user saying: “It’s done then”.

“Thanks for everything, Fab!” said another.

A third added: “As much as 40M for a 29yo does sound appealing, it’s really worrying thinking abt us losing most all of our senior midfielders in one window.”

Should he leave, Fabinho will have made 219 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions since he signed in 2018.

He scored 11 goals during that period too and will depart having won seven titles including the Premier League and Champions League.

With Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai already both signed, Liverpool’s new midfield is beginning to take shape.
