Amad Diallo has given Manchester United an injury scare by leaving Saturday night’s friendly on crutches.

The Ivorian winger came on at half-time against Arsenal at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

However, after just 13 minutes he was forced off following a series of tough challenges.

Later, the 21-year-old was spotted leaving the stadium on crutches and there are major fears that he could have suffered a serious injury.

According to the Manchester Evening News, there was wrapping on his ankle.

Amad was carted off in a golf buggy while Facundo Pellestri replaced him just before the hour-mark.

The former Atalanta ace had a fine season last year at Sunderland, where he spent a season on loan and helped them finish in the play-offs of the Championship.

He scored 14 goals and became a fan favourite and had been plotting another loan away with Leicester among the interested parties.

But any transfer away will have to wait now on the results of his latest injury.

It put a sour note on what was a fine evening for Erik ten Hag’s men against Arsenal.

They swatted aside the Gunners after two first-half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho.

It is the third victory out of three for the Red Devils on their pre-season tour, having beaten Leeds and Lyon.

And that is without new signing Andre Onana, who joined this week from Inter Milan.

The Cameroon international is expected to be United’s new No. 1 after David de Gea left on a free transfer.

Dean Henderson, meanwhile, looks set to be sold to Nottingham Forest while Tom Heaton was impressed on tour.
