Gogglebox star Jad Nehmetallah to open new bar in Sydney as he expands his hospitality empire

Gogglebox star Jad Nehmetallah will expand his hospitality empire in western Sydney with a new bar set to open next year.

Jad, who opened Misc in October, will open a new bar in Paramatta, according to a report in The Daily Telegraph on Monday.

‘It’s going to be good food, good cocktails, great times and a lot of fun with dancing,’ Jad told the publication.

The reality star, who sold The Picnic café at Burwood, went on to say the area has a great appreciation for culture.

‘I feel Parramatta has a great sense of appreciation and love for food, culture and experiences, and that it is time to bring that level of food and experience and beverages to western Sydney because we deserve it,’ he added.

Jad previously revealed why he banned avocado toast on the menu of his restaurant, Misc, calling it a ‘standard’ breakfast option last October.

‘We want to give people the freedom to explore what people have for breakfast and not be locked into your standard smashed avo on toast,’ he told the Daily Telegraph.

‘We’ve got avocado and we’ve got flatbread, so if you want to make it yourself you can, but instead we wanted to bring more lunch style options to breakfast like the mortadella or burrata,’ he added.

Jad is best known for his commentary on Gogglebox Australia, alongside best friend Matty Fahd and his gorgeous wife, Sarah Marie.

Jad was previously forced to address rumours he could be the next face of Network Ten’s The Bachelor Australia.

He rejected the hearsay, despite being single and ready to settle down.

The Gogglebox star told TV Tonight the dating series was not the type of show he could see himself on as he enjoyed his privacy.

‘Gogglebox isn’t the kind of show you get papped for. It’s not The Bachelor, MAFS or Love Island. You do get recognised a lot, but you’re a neutral character. You’re not hated, there’s no gossip on you,’ he said.

‘The Bachelor is a great show, but it’s not something that I feel is for me at the moment.’

Jad has been regularly picked on for being single as ‘it’s an easy conversation to flog’ and he desperately wants to have children.

‘I want to start a family, which is always on my mind. I love kids and I’ve got a couple of nephews. So I think when the time’s right, God willing,’ he told the publication.
