Conor McGregor

Conor Anthony McGregor, born on July 14, 1988, in Ireland, is a professional mixed martial artist. He became the first fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to win titles in both the Featherweight and Lightweight divisions.

McGregor has held championship titles in Cage Warriors for lightweight and featherweight categories as well. He faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his first professional boxing match, which he lost. McGregor has headlined the most successful UFC Pay-Per-View events in terms of ticket sales, establishing himself as the most popular attraction in the history of mixed martial arts.

The UFC 229 main event between McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov set a new record with 2.4 million pay-per-view buys. McGregor’s boxing match with Mayweather also generated significant interest, with 4.3 million pay-per-view purchases in North America, the second-highest in combat sports history.

According to Forbes, McGregor reportedly earned $180 million in 2021, making him the highest-paid athlete in the world. He previously appeared on the Forbes list in 2018, ranking fourth with a reported income of $99 million.

Conor McGregor, an Irish professional fighter, is expected to have a net worth of $250 million by 2023. This includes his earnings from various sources. Firstly, he made $50 million from his fight with Khabib in October 2018.

Secondly, he is projected to gain $200 million before taxes from the sale of his whiskey company, Proper No—twelve, in April 2021. Additionally, McGregor’s net worth includes an estimated $100 million in prize money from his fight with Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.

In the following sections, we will provide more details about each of these occurrences. As of now, McGregor’s total earnings from his fighting career amount to $235 million.

If you continue reading, you will find a thorough examination of each paycheck McGregor has received. Between June 2018 and June 2019, McGregor earned $47 million through his salary, sponsorships, and purse sales.

How Much Did Conor McGregor Make from Proper No Twelve?

The Proper No. McGregor introduced twelve Irish whiskey brands in September 2018 in both Ireland and the US. Before they began, the partners secured Proximo Spirits as a 20% equity partner. Most people know Proximo for owning Jose Cuervo tequila.

Proximo spent $250 million to expand its ownership position to 49% in the middle of 2020. McGregor and his business partners sold Proximo Spirits their remaining joint 51% ownership interest in Proper No—twelve in April 2021.

The agreement might be worth $600 million, including the $250 million the three founders received from the previously discussed deal with Proximo the year prior. Conor will have made $200 million overall from Proper No. Twelve if all of the long-term milestones are reached.

How Much Did Conor McGregor Earn from the Mayweather Fight?

Conor fought Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring on August 26, 2017, transitioning from the MMA cage. One of the most successful pay-per-view events ever, the fight sold 4.3 million copies.

Guarantees, product royalties, concessions, and incentives added up to an estimated $100 million in Conor’s revenues at that level. Conor’s net worth after the Floyd fight was $85 million if you count, he lost about 50% of his profits to taxes and had $100 million in gross earnings.

Conor made over $14 million between June 2017 and June 2018 through endorsement deals with businesses, including Burger King, Beats by Dre, and Anheuser-Busch. If Conor had defeated Mayweather (against all odds) in a rematch, he may have won even another incredible payout.

It is reasonable to believe that he would have been entitled to request at least 50% of the proceeds from a subsequent bout. Theoretically, that would have resulted in a $200–$300 million dividend.

Conor announced that he had signed an 8-fight contract with the UFC on September 20, 2018. The transaction terms were not disclosed, although it is safe to assume they total at least $200 million.
