Naaman was placed on leave when the student’s letter was received, and she resigned on Monday, May 6.
School administrators received the concerning allegation about Naaman in a letter dated May 2, written on behalf of a former student of the $61,000-a-year Upper East Side school.
In response to the allegation, the school filed a police report and hired a firm specializing in harassment and s*xual abuse to conduct an investigation.
The next day, the school held an assembly to inform high school students about the investigation and provide information on available school resources.

Mara Naaman was born in 1973 in the United States, attended Wesleyan University starting in 1992, and graduated with a degree in 1996. She later pursued further studies at Columbia University in New York City from 2002 to 2008.
While at Columbia University, Naaman worked as an Instructor at Hofstra University from 2001 to 2003. She then served as an Instructor of Arabic in the CASP summer immersion program at Columbia University from 2004 to 2005.
