Police are investigating after a man’s body was found floating in Sydney Harbour.

Emergency services were called at about 7.30am to reports of a body in the water close to Pirrama Wharf at Pyrmont in the city’s inner west.

Police, with the help of the Marine Area Command, recovered the body of a man believed to be in his 50s.

He is yet to be formally identified.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death has begun
