A 13-year-old boy has been bitten by a police dog after a pursuit through Melbourne’s south-east overnight.

The boy was among three others who were arrested after they allegedly led police on a pursuit that began in Box Hill.

Officers said they were first alerted to the group driving a red Isuzu D-Max ute by a service station attendant on Canterbury Road.

The pursuit ended after the ute hit a tree. (Nine)

Police said the ute was allegedly involved in a number of burglaries and robberies in Box Hill yesterday.

Officers began tracking the ute after it was spotted on Wellington Road and the Monash Freeway about 12.35am.

The ute was tracked while it travelled inbound on the Monash Freeway.

Police deployed stopsticks on the Monash Freeway in Glen Iris about 2am, before a pursuit began and a second round of stopsticks was used.

The ute crashed into a tree on Springvale Road in Glen Waverley, and four boys allegedly attempted to flee the scene on foot.

A 13-year-old boy, 14-year-old Doveton boy and 15-year-old Springvale boy were arrested nearby.

A 13-year-old Noble Park boy was found hiding nearby a short time later by a dog squad unit.

He suffered a bite after allegedly attempting to resist being taken into custody and was talem to hospital with minor injuries.

The boys are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
