Burger King manager is fired for serving fries she took from the trash sparking furious face-off with two female customers who ‘threw objects’

A Burger King manager has been fired after allegedly serving fries she picked out from the trash can, sparking a furious face-off with two female customers. 

Jaime Christine Major, 39, was charged Monday with malicious tampering with food at a Burger King branch in the South Carolina city of Union.

Florida-born Major, who was assistant manager, is accused of taking French fries from the trash and adding them to the container where freshly cooked potato chips are kept ready for serving. 

She was outed by two female customers named by police as Shantel Elizabeth Harris and Ivory Lakeisha Muhammad, who spotted her germ-ridden antics and caused a scene in the restaurant on July 9. 

Officers from the Union Police Department were called to the food joint at 508 Duncan Bypass on Highway 176 after the women shouted profanities and threatened staff.

Along with a witness, the branch manager – Major’s superior – called 911 to inform on customers ‘arguing with staff at the location’ according to the police report seen by DailyMail.com. 

Sgt. Bryan Shaver responded, and could hear their argument from his patrol vehicle as he pulled up in the car park before he even got inside the restaurant. 

Harris, 37, and Muhammad, 39, were described in the police report as ‘two black females using body language pointing at employees that indicated they were angry about something’. 

Burger King has distanced itself from Major’s behavior, saying it is committed to ‘quality food and service’

Shaver attempted to calm them down, but they continued ‘being loud and boisterous and using profanity towards employees’, so he arrested them for disorderly conduct. 

While being escorted away in handcuffs, Harris made verbal threats to management to harm them when she got out of jail.

The women had their mug shots taken as they were booked at Union County Jail, but they were later named as victims of Major’s dirty fries in supplementary documents about her case.

Major’s arrest came after Burger King HQ informed police on July 11 they believed she had been serving fries from the trash can.

She is described by police as a 5 foot 5 white woman from Florida whose marital status is single.  

The fast food giant said her alleged behavior does not ‘align to the brand’s commitment to quality food’, adding that the branch involved would be cooperating with investigators.

‘These allegations do not align to the brand’s commitment to quality food and service and creating an exceptional Guest experience,’ a Burger King spokesperson told Fox Business. 

‘The Franchisee of this restaurant is cooperating with local authorities and will take appropriate action based on the findings.

‘As this remains an ongoing investigation, we are unable to share additional details at this time.’

On July 17, Major was booked at the Union County Detention Center, with a judge setting her bond for release at $20,000. 

If convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment and financial penalties under the Federal Anti-Tampering Act, according to the Department of Justice.
